Meet the Doctors

Dr. Divian Patel

Dr. Patel

Dr. Divian Patel has been involved with dentistry for the last 13 years. As a partner at Menlo Park Family Dental, he is committed to your long term oral health and experience at the office. He is now setting his roots in the Bay Area.

Dr Patel is licensed to practice in two countries! He completed his BDS in London, at the Royal London Hospital in 2010. He managed two successful practices there until he felt a pull to challenge himself and begin a career “across the pond.” In 2016 he came to San Francisco and attained his DDS at the University of the Pacific in 2018.

His hard work has been rewarded by induction into Tau Kappa Omega. The dental school organized its Tau Kappa Omega dental honor society in 1927 in an effort to promote honor and service to the alma mater. Doctors are admitted on the basis of ideals, scholarship and character. Dr Hakim and Dr. Vallee are also members.

His clinical services have been recognized as he was a finalist at the prestigious Dentistry Awards for the Best Young Dentist in the UK 2012. His offices have gone on to win several other accolades. He has a proven passion to deliver high quality care. He loves to use conservative dentistry to achieve healthy, functional and brilliant smiles. He has a special interest in Invisalign and restorative care in order to practice ethical and non-invasive dentistry. He has also developed a passion for restoration of implants.

Outside of the office, Dr. Patel spends as much time with his friends and family as possible. He is fully involved with a local cricket team in Fremont. He remains an avid fan of his boyhood team, Liverpool Football Club. Aside from sports he is a big movie buff.

Dr. Jessie Vallée

Dr. Vallée

Dr. Jessie Vallée has spent the majority of her career balancing private practice with being a dental educator, researcher, and lecturer. She held the position of Curriculum Director in the Department of Integrated Reconstructive Dental Sciences at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry for many years prior to moving to Menlo Park and taking over the practice of Dr. Jan C. Gabus.

After graduating from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2004, Dr. Vallée spent three years in the United States Navy. There she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency and served tours in Iraq, Kuwait, and Japan in Naval Mobile Construction Battalion THREE (The Fighting Seabees!).

Upon departing Naval Service in 2007, Dr. Vallee returned to private practice in the Bay Area. She also returned to her alma mater, UOP, to teach one day a week in the Occlusion and TMJ preclinical course (the study of the function of jaws and teeth). She soon immersed herself as a full-time faculty member, leading the fixed prosthodontics course (crowns and bridges) and managing clinical groups. Eventually, Dr. Vallée became part of the department's leadership and oversaw the modernization and integration of the restorative curriculum.

In addition to spending a decade as an educator, Dr. Vallée has maintained a robust, part-time private practice in Greenbrae, CA, practicing family and general dentistry, and most recently practiced in Atherton, CA. She has published and lectured on the topics of ceramic and composite materials, excellence and best practices in restorative dentistry, women in dental leadership, and curriculum design and assessment. She authored two chapters of the textbook, Esthetic Dentistry in Clinical Practice, 2010. (Blackwell)

Dr. Vallée is excited to commit herself to her community and patients in her new hometown. Along with her husband Mike and daughter Mila, Dr. Vallée moved from San Francisco to Menlo Park in November of 2016 and was inspired by the deep sense of community. They welcomed her second daughter, Sofia, on January 4th, 2018.

She joined the practice of Dr. Gabus in July of 2017 and purchased the practice on February 28th, 2018, when Dr. Gabus retired. Dr. Vallée is looking forward to caring for patients with the same level of compassion, care, expertise, and precision as Dr. Gabus. She is committed to building a trusting, transparent relationship with each one of her patients, in order to make informed decisions together. She will spend the time to make certain patients fully understand their oral health needs and all the options available to them. She is excited to bring new technologies, techniques, and procedures to the practice.

In her few moments of free time, Dr. Vallee enjoys sewing and apparel design and playing with her daughters.

Dr. Foroud Hakim

Dr. Hakim

Dr. Foroud Hakim received his undergraduate degree from San Jose State in 1987, followed by his doctorate in dentistry in 1991 from the University of the Pacific. Dedicated to furthering his business acumen, he received an MBA from the University of the Pacific in 1999.

Shortly after graduating from dental school, a perfect opportunity arose to buy a small private practice in scenic, family-friendly San Ramon. Having since moved locations and grown this practice to a strong community, Dr. Hakim has been providing high-quality dental care to many loyal patients since 1992.

The smaller private practice setting is ideal for Dr. Hakim because he feels it is the best environment in which to provide one-on-one, personalized care. He believes in a holistic approach, which means he is not only committed to maintaining and improving patients’ oral health but is concerned about their overall health. An integral part of that philosophy involves an emphasis on prevention and early detection, so for instance, decay can be kept to a minimum and patients can retain the majority of their natural tooth structure. Whenever possible, Dr. Hakim uses minimally invasive dental (MID) procedures.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hakim spends as much time with his incredible wife and two children as possible. He’s a diehard golfer and takes up the occasional basketball or soccer games, as well. He loves traveling, fishing, and enjoying the gourmet dining throughout San Ramon.
